We Had a 5K
Annual 5K was run on Saturday. Went off well I am told. Wonder if any of the council members made an appearance.
Tomorrow is election day. Unfortunately we can't get rid of the whole (or some of) group until maybe next year...countdown is on.
Time for some new thinking. New direction. New blood.
Get the word out.

The Worst Ever
Been here a long time. I was here in 1984.
This is worse.
God help the people in authority of the dams were opened and caused this. That is a vow.

Fingers-Crossed
As you know, Hurricane Irene is coming a-knocking.
Here's hoping that she leaves without drowning us all.
God bless. Good luck.

Some Weekend
Busy 'round these parts. Saturday was the loooong fireman's parade and last night of their carnival. Checked it out early in the evening, seemed a little slow. Hope they did well.
Then today we had a triathlon in the AM. Lot's of tri-types swimming, biking, running.
LP.

Summer in LP

You gotta like summer in LP; plenty to do and really nice this time of year (like all times of year.
The Community Lake is open with new hoops court, water slide, jungle jim and the best stretch of sand north of the Jersey Shore. And it costs a small fee for any resident family...so get down and enjoy.

Memorial Day in LP
Hot. We went from winter to summer with a week of spring.
Parade yesterday. Looked a little lite. No council members in the parade at all. Guess they had something better to do. Saw the Cub Scouts, Girls Scouts,PAL, Fire Co's, EMS, marching bands, etc. No members of council though.
Still hiding?

Floods This Year
Keep your fingers, toes and eyes crossed that we can weather the storms (no pun intended) and keep high and dry.
Lots of dire forecasts yesterday, seemed to be a non-event.
Spring around the corner.

LP Fun Night at Spa 23
There is a Fun Night sponsored by the Rec Dept. at Spa 23 in P.Plains tonight from 6-8.
We here at the Watch are big supporters of anything that gets the kids out and doing something beyond video games. So if you can get down there, get down there.
Otherwise sign up for some PAL sports - baseball/softball signups are at the end of the month.

2011 in LP
Even though it started a couple of weeks ago, happy new year to all of LP.
Waiting for Chris Christie to shake up the pension system so we can push some of the dead weight out of the Municipal Building (that cost $23MM or so).
Adios to them.
