Property Tax

Saw a commercial last night that was essentially telling NJ residents that they should tell Gov Christie NO on the 2.5% Property Tax cap he's proposing. If we don't, patrols will disappear and crime, I assume, will go up.

So first we have the teachers, now we have the cops. All telling us that we have to pay more so they can have jobs. And benefits. And pensions. And everything else that comes with these professions.

Sorry. No can do flatfoots. Because my family has to eat, and my kids have to go to school, and we have to live.

Job Well Done (Halfway)

Mayor Runfeldt was elected as the GOP candidate for Mayor yesterday by almost a 2:1 margin. Good deal. We have no use for the other guy.

In the council primary, a surprise (at least to me) that Robert Cardillo won - I applaud his efforts. Two incumbents, Pepe and Thompson, also won. I hope they get the message and perform their duties as the citizens of LP require.

Another Thought

There's some in town that say the former Mayor, who wants back in, is only doing so because he needs a few more years for full benefits FOR LIFE. I guess when he says he is in favor of holding the line, it's your line, not his.

What a creep.

Finally

The Sunday Suburban Trends has an article on the people running for council.

Give it a day or so and you can read it here.

Out with the old, in with the new. Time to send a message.

Almost Secret

Looked high and low and can't find any info on the Council-at-Large primary coming up next week. I blame the Borough Clerk, who can't be bothered. Or maybe the incumbents want it that way.

Near as I can figure:

Pepe
Long
Thompson

All incumbents. All should be voted out.

Madsen
Rehfuss
Cardillo

All new. Time for some fresh blood. Maybe a change is just what we need.

And stay away from the bank president as Mayor. NG.

VOTE.

Sneaky

Watch out who you vote for. A lot of wolves in sheep's clothing in the BOLP.

We've got lots of nepotism and favoritism; some very interesting ideas on what the citizen's want; and absolute narcissistic behavior from many.

Meanwhile, the town keep plugging along. A lot of debt, but we do away with fees for a select few (and keep it kind of quiet).

Oh well. At least summer is almost here.
